About the Role

Our team supports the Qt R&D teams in developing and maintaining the documentation for Qt and related products. We're a team of five, and you are possibly the sixth. The team consists of software engineers and technical writers, who share a passion for high quality software documentation. We are looking for a (senior) software engineer who appreciates the value of world-class API documentation and test-driven development.

Technical writers with demonstrable software engineering skills are also encouraged to apply.


You will

  • Support development teams across multiple sites in developing and maintaining documentation for Qt and related products, such as Qt for MCUs, Qt for Python, Qt Creator and Qt Design Studio IDEs, as well as Qt for Android Automotive.
  • Maintain the publishing infrastructure for daily documentation snapshots and final releases
  • Develop and maintain QDoc, our documentation generation tool
  • Maintain the doc.qt.io and doc-snapshots.qt.io websites
  • Plan and develop the features of QDoc, Qt's own documentation generator (based on LLVM/Clang)
  • Review code contributions from your team mates, other teams, and open source community contributors

About you

  • Experience in C++, we use C++ 17
  • Experience with build tools like CMake or Ninja
  • Experience with different platforms: Windows, macOS and Linux
  • Focus on quality
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience working with technical documentation is a plus
  • Advanced English communication skills both verbal and written (English is our corporate language)
