Candidate Privacy Notice: Consent to store your data
SCOPE
At the Qt Group, we are committed to respecting your privacy. This Privacy Notice is designed to describe how The Qt Company Oy or its relevant affiliates (“the Qt Group”, “Qt”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and processes personal information about job applicants as part of our recruitment process.
If there is any discrepancy between this policy and applicable law in your jurisdiction, the applicable law will prevail. Nothing in this policy is intended to curtail or impede your privacy rights under applicable law.

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
You are not required to provide the Qt Group personal information. However, if you choose not to provide personal information, the Qt Group may not be able to continue the recruitment process with you.
As part of your application to a Qt Group company, you provide the Qt Group with certain personal information, including contact information and preferences, employment and professional experience, education, work permit or visa information. Depending on location and candidate process, we may also collect information during screening and interview cycles and assessments, details regarding compensation, job location, and preferences, information you voluntarily provide, and work samples.
USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
The Qt Group will only process your personal data as set out in this Privacy Notice and in compliance with applicable law.
Always subject to applicable law, we may process your personal information for the following purposes:
Processing your job application/candidacy
Managing the relationship between you and Qt during your candidacy, including scheduling meetings, responding to inquiries, and communications
Contact of references with your authorization
Evaluation of your candidacy and eligibility for other Qt Group positions
Outreach about other Qt employment positions for which you may be eligible
Conducting background and sanctions checks where allowed by applicable law and with your authorization
Complying with applicable legal obligations, such as health and safety laws
Analyze candidate and application trends within the Qt Group. Where practicable, the Qt Group will anonymize or pseudonymize personal information in such analyses.
SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
The Qt Group is a global company and, as part of the recruitment and hiring process, we may share your personal information with Qt Group companies under common ownership of The Qt Company Oy for the purposes of recruiting and evaluating candidates, HR administration, and general internal business operations. The Qt Group company to which you applied is the data controller regarding your personal information.
Qt uses Breezy HR, a web-based hiring platform, to assist in our recruiting process. As part of that process, Breezy HR will be processing the personal information you have shared, in accordance with The Qt Company instructions. The Qt Group may, in certain instances, also share your personal information with other service providers in connection with the recruitment process (e.g., for purposes of employment checks or background checks dependent on applicable law).
If a recruitment agency is part of your candidate process, your personal information may be shared with the recruitment agencies with whom you have shared or made your personal information publicly available.
Depending on the jurisdiction, the Qt Group may need to share your information with you previous employers for the purposes of reference or employment verification checks. The Qt Group may also share your personal information with government authorities, if required in order to comply with legal obligations and/or processes.
Given the global nature of the Qt Group, a cross-border transfer of of your personal information provided to Qt may be transferred from the European Union or European Economic Area (“EU/EEA”) to a Qt Group location outside the EU/EEA. Any cross-border transfer of such information, including any transfers outside the EU/EEA will be carried out in compliance with applicable laws and subject to Qt intragroup agreements, including applicable transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

RETENTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
If you are offered a job and accept, the Qt Group will store and retain certain information in your personnel file. If you are not offered a job with the Qt Group or do not accept a job offer from the Qt Group, we will retain your data for up to six (6) months, unless applicable law requires us to retain information for a differing period of time. If for some reason, we would like to retain your information longer, we will reach out to you for consent first.
YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Depending on applicable laws, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Right of access to your personal data
Right to know the information related to your personal information collected by Qt
Right to request rectification of incomplete or incorrect personal data
Right to object to or restrict the processing of personal data and to object to any automated decision-making
Right to request erasure or deletion of personal data
Right to lodge a complaint regarding processing with the relevant supervisory authority in the jurisdiction where you work, live, or where the alleged infringement took place.
These rights may be limited according to applicable data protection laws (e.g., legal obligations to retain) and/or require verification of your identity. Qt does not discriminate against those exercising their rights under applicable laws (e.g., California Privacy Legislation).
PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
The Qt Group will keep your data secure by taking appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect against its unauthorised or unlawful processing and against its accidental loss, destruction or damage. The Qt Group strives to protect your personal data, but we cannot guarantee the security of your data online.
CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE
This notice is not part of any Qt employment contract. The Qt Group may change this notice from time to time in response to technical, business, or legal developments. When updates are made, we will note the update date on this page. We recommend that you periodically re-visit this Notice from time to time for information on how the Qt Group processes your information.
