About the Job

We are seeking a Software Engineer to expand our R&D team in Hamburg, Germany. Qt Company’s engineers in Hamburg work on the Qt Quality Assurance tools offering. Our most famous product is 'Squish', a program for automating tests on graphical user interfaces (GUIs) on a wide range of platforms. We also develop 'Squish Coco', a complete code coverage tool for various languages, and 'Test Center', a central server for storing and viewing test results.

You will

  • Design, develop, and maintain our product Squish GUI Tester
  • Work on many different aspects of Squish depending on your interests (GUIs, support for UI toolkits, script language bindings, client/server communication, report generation, and more)
  • Participate in code reviews and experience-sharing sessions within your team and with other teams
  • Work independently on your assigned tasks
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve and expand the products
  • Work on different platforms and environments
  • Be in contact with our customers regarding bug reports and feature requests

About You:

  • Solid background in software engineering
  • Experience in C++ and C# is a must
  • Experience with one or more Windows UI toolkits (Win32 C API, MFC, WPF, Windows Forms) is a must
  • Experience with software development and debugging workflows on Windows
    • Experience with Microsoft's toolchain is a must
    • MingW toolchain knowledge is a plus
    • Experience with analyzing crash dumps is a plus
    • Knowledge on runtime linking behavior of DLL's & symbol resolving is a plus
  • Experience with a version control system, we use git
  • Experience with a bug tracking tool, we use JIRA
  • Knowledge of any scripting language for example JavaScript, Python, Ruby
  • Experience with the Windows COM API is a plus
  • Experience with Qt framework is a plus
  • Experience with one or more testing approaches, like unit, component, or UI testing, is a plus
  • Ability to facilitate clear communication within the team and across departments for effective collaboration
  • Advanced knowledge in English both written and spoken (English is our corporate language)
