About the Job
We are looking for a software expert to lead one of our embedded R&D teams in Berlin, Germany.
As a Manager for a group of developers, you help create an inspiring team environment, facilitate an open and engaging communication culture, and support the team in achieving their goals. You will be responsible for leading and motivating team members and representing the team towards other functions in the company, customers, and the Qt open-source community.
You will work on the world's leading cross-platform C++ framework, where you will contribute to developing solutions that make life easy for application developers on a multitude of platforms, from embedded to desktop and mobile.
As an R&D team leader you will not just focus on management efforts, but you will also actively contribute to the development work. You will spend most of your time on technical tasks. In addition, you will be assisting the team in achieving their goals and growing their skills.
You will:
- Actively contribute to the development process by writing robust, modern C++ code
- Participate in software design and architecture discussions.
- Work hands-on with the world's leading cross-platform C++ framework, focusing on embedded systems.
- Contribute to the Qt open-source community and maintain a positive external presence
- Coach and mentor team members, helping them grow their technical skills
- Implement best practices in software development
- Facilitate open communication and knowledge sharing within the team
- Motivate and guide team members toward achieving their goals
- Ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
About You:
- Extensive experience with the C++ programming language
- Experience with debugging and profiling on embedded devices
- Hands-on experience working on embedded software projects, with or without an operating system
- In-depth understanding of software design and architecture principles
- Proficient in graphics programming on embedded devices is a plus
- Familiarity with the Qt framework and QML is a plus
- Leadership and/or mentoring experience in managing software development teams is a plus
- Ability to work within a diverse team
- Excellent communication skills to represent the team internally and externally
- Ability to keep information flowing within the team and with other stakeholders
- Advanced English communication skills both verbal and written (English is our corporate language)
